Curtis Knight - Down In The Village (1970 Paramount)

Very nice album. A bit Hendrix like atmosphere, but it doesn't matter. Hard-psych-soul is what comes to my mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_3fCt0MKxk

Warhole Velvet Bananas

Had succeeded to avoid to purchase this album for years, after hearing parts of it here and there and i still don't have a slightest idea of what this is about... feels like fishing with a longline with no hooks or trawling with a whale size mesh. But when listening this again and again i have to confess me feeling like becoming a hook maker and fattening to fit in this simple one size fits all velvet underwear.

Hullujussi featuring Frank Krappa (1974 RCA)

These three photos from the live 1974 Alibi Club gig of Hullujussi reveal FK himself was on the stage and played his guitar. As you continue to think, i'm sure, about the last and final not yet solved enigma: Velvet Underground vs Frank Zappa, i think this album is the answer. Frank played "I want To Get You Higher" with his side band Sisuvisnu Orchestra and it proofs without no doubt Lou and Frank were more than good friends and on the same track against those lazy flower smoking hippies around the bay area. By the way "Sisupojat" and "Victor Kalborrek" play on this live album too. Ok. bongo bongo bonzo dog funny Hullujussi = Grazy Johnny is joking for example with Frank Zappa's traditional "joke" being in hotel and ordering a local sandwichfor the breakfast. in Deutchland it was something .... and in Finland Zappa ordered voileipää for breakfast... vuolepää... vuolepäää says George Duke in Roxy and i think Hullujussi does its once again, Frank Krappa (Eeki Mantere) molestin FZ. Funny or maybe not... Did anyone understand something?

Nolo et Rähjä - Oodi (1977 Discovox)

I remember seeing N&R live in 70s. Their second album "Oodi" is engineered by Timo "Nuuskamuikkunen" "Dylan" Ulkuniemi and sub-produced by Juice. Strange Dali style painting is by Juntunen. The bizarreand ugly cover painting makes me think Juntunen was on his more out of one's mind period than ever. This one cover was not censored but some other his cover art were (Juice for example) was. This whole album stinks Juice Leskinen even there are not any of his songs. "Portti" is the best one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDVLSRyJ6Ok

Juice Leskinen - The Diet Of A Concentarion Camp (1976 Love Records)

To the most original or otherwise finnished people... rest of you... don't bother.

Chris McGregor's - Brotherhood of Breath (1971 RCA)

Mostly ok recycled afro-jazz but at times too much dull saxophone driven basic stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxl0tz6X7ug

Simon Stokes And The Night Hawks - S/T (1971

Serious and unaffected bluesy hard rock. Very much worth hearing. Strong raspy vocals and fuzzy guitar driven album and some nice organ sound too. "Voodoo Woman" and "Which Way" for example! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a4s2FrSnWM

Simon Stokes And The Night Hawks - S/T (1971

Raspy, serious and unaffected fuzzy rock'n roll. Very much worth of hearing. A strong raspy vocals and fuzzy guitar driven album and some nice organ sound too. "Voodoo Woman" and "Which Way" for example! And... Cal Schenkel apparently had afforded to purchase a new pocket camera after his succesfull  FZ coverartperiod.. or was reverse?

Magic - S/T (1971 Rare Earth)

The opener is quite standard rock'n roll. The second piece is a lower than standard Rolling Stones aping. The third one, "Alexis" is not much but a bit better and  more country flavored than the two previous ones. No magic to be heard on the next track even. And the last one on the first side 5.35 long "Don't use your Love To Blind Me" is a bit more complex but not enough to save the first side. Suddenly there occurs a nice but only about 30 seconds short part, and after that it turns to country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kdnAbfwqUc

Morning Dew - S/T (1970 Roulette/2012 Rhino)

There may be more poems and songs about morning dew, than those who actually have ever seen an actual dewdrop in their own eyes (including Frank Zappa). Morning Dew is not a cliche! When listening it i get some thoughts it is something from the late psychedelic era by some clever people who raised above all the stupidest of it and were able to combine both the must naive innocence and the grown up objectivity of it. Morning Dew sounds good and there are some higher points above the very good basis (Crusader's Smile, Something You Say). Well played, well produced and well thought. Well canned! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzQFPH1drmE

The Who - Who's Next (1971)

I once again tried... but just to hit my head on concrete, as many times before with this. Sorry to say: This is highly overrated crap.

Little Feat - Time Loves Hero (1977 WB)

This is more than just southern rock or boogie rock. For example excellent "Day At The Dog Races" is almost Weather Reportian jazz. TLAH maybe isn't their best album but Little Feat is the best so called "Southern Rock" band i have heard.

Richard Harvey - A New Way of Seeing (ICL)

A bit Mike Oldfield like instrumental music by a founder of maybe a more famous English band called Gryphon. I've got Gryphons album "Gryphon" too, and can not hear any obvious musical relationshiph with this and that. This one may be a start of new way of seeing, but i have lost my fourth ear years ago and so have no possibility to get it. A bit disappointment, i have to say, this is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vmck6btRHI

Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed (1969 Decca)

I never liked Rolling Stones before i found their late 60s production which is great. This one "Let it Bleed" is good late 60s album too. I still don't like their 70's stupid straight up and forward rock'n roll style. Found this album today at a flea. The sticker exists but unfortunately no poster left.

Juice Leskinen - Tähän Saakka (Love Records 1977)

Mixed style original Finnish musician Juice's music could hardly be understood anywhere else but in his homeland. There are couple of beautiful ballads among others, which may have some potential to be understood worldwide. best tracks: 3.30 and Syksyn sävel.

Jonesy - Sudden Prayers Make God Jump... (1974/2003)

At its best insane good rock. I think i'm going to hunt their three earlier albums too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8UAHjuIcpQ

Little John - S/T (1971 Epic)

Very good but less known Bay Area horn rock band. Chicago influenced "we" 4,5 stars of 5. "Gremlins Lullaby" along with the entire side 2 is exciting. In spite of some obvious influences Little John is very genuine sounding music.
