Howard Wales & Jerry Garcia - Hooteroll? (1971 Douglas5)

Smooth and cool organ driven jazz-rock. Wonderful album!

The Brethren - Moment Of Truth (1971 Tiffany Records)

Goscrove, Marotta, Woods and Garson: great musicianship. Long cover of Dr. John's "Loop Garoo" is enjoyable. I can imagine hearing some echoes at least from Santana and Colosseum on this over eight minute track. Very good album indeed.

The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band - Vol.2 Breaking Through (1967 Reprise) (

Sitting on the floor in a silver plated room is one of those safely unique experiences everybody dreams of. Or maybe their foil hats did not do. Side two is better than the first one. Strange, but I'm little by little becoming to get this. ...Two days later... This album is one of those you have to listen with headphones and after more closely listening i'm beginning to appreciate this a lot. I perceive it a concept album. "Smell of Incense" maybe the greatest single piece on this entire and high-spirited psych art disc.

Chango - S/T (1975 abc)

Excellent Santana style album.

Mother Earth - Bring Me Home (1971 Reprise)

Very pleasant, comfortable and relaxing bluesy music. Tracy Nelson is the biggest part and sound of this album, putting Lotti Golden in my mind. High quality west coast folk-blues.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - S/T (1970 Manticore)

I have mostly listened to Tarkus and Brain Salad Surgery, supposing they are the two best albums from ELP. I'm not sure of that anymore. This their debut has been totally unknown to me. Remarkable progalbum! I have found ELP again. Feels good!

The American Breed - Pumpkin, Powder, Scarlet & Green (1968 Acta)

American Breed with this album is not just another standard bubblegum pop mix made around one potential hit song. This rather is a smooth harmony pop concept album using brass elements which are typical to Chicago area music and using some light psychedelic elements on sounds and structure. Their harmony singing is very good and they are skillful on using controlled non-harmony singing too. Sometimes American Breed connotes me band "Ultra Bra".

The Pretty Things - Parachute (1970 Rare Earth)

The Beatles meets Pink Floyd and Radiohead in 1970. I have hoped there still were for me unknown albums with an atmosphere like this. And this was. Parachute sounds stunning and safe, new and familiar at the same time. It now made my day and all the days to come. Thank you ThePT for making this album.

Sons Of Champlin - Wellcome To The Dance (1973 CBS)

Quite difficult album to describe. Mostly it is organ (Hammond) driven blue-eyed soul with some parts of guitar driven jazz-prog. Some very tightly jamming parts with strong guitar appear when you don't wait it and fade away too soon leaving me to hope there were more that. Interesting and well played mixed bag of this and that. Bill Champlin went later to sing with Chicago. Terry Haggerty on guitar is very good.

Terry Ber - Through The Eyes Of Terry Ber Songs of Terry Ber & Other Poets (1968 World Pasific)

Six of the twelve songs are written by Terry herself. Three of the songs are from L. Cohen and one from Donovan. Her music on this her sole album is beautiful and sensitive folk. She was a coffee house and night club singer on the New York area. It is claimed that she had a song repertoire in 27 different languages. Perhaps that was because she was a travelling person, hitchhiking across America, Canada and Europe for example. In 1968 she had also written a cookbook. I got this information from the program leaflet of The Mariposa Folk Festival in 1968 in Canada. By the way... the cover of this album may send some hints of psychedelic content and some sellers seem to let us believe it belongs to psych genre, but that is not true. Streets of My Village:
