Grapefruit - Deep Water (1969 RCA)

Decent but mild garage punk footaged "psych" pop.

Steppenwolf - At Your Birthday Party (1969 Dunhill)

Simple rock'n roll blues for Mickey Mouse troops everywhere in the world battling against each others?  Blues and dues, both paid by Harry Haller.

Little Feat - Time Loves A Hero (1977 WB)

This is more than just southern rock or boogie rock. Maybe this isn't their best album but Little Feat is the best so called "Southern Rock" band i have heard. When the trombone comes in, band begins to sound near like my favorite sound maker FZ.

Joanna Newsom - Have One On Me (2010)

I love Björk but her apparent soul sister Joanne Newsom even more. Great music straight to my bullseye.

The Turtles - Turtle Soup (1969 White Whale)

Ray Davis from Kinks was the chef when this soup was cooked. The firs side is frisky sunshine pop. On the  back side i can at least imagine myself hearing some echoes from The attitude to music why two of these guys were involved with FZ those days. Listen to the drummer! His style of doing is so natural  Nice album but i still prefer "The Battle" as their best one.

The Unspoken Word - Tuesday, April 19th (1968 Ascot)

I have got their sophomore album too, even though i can't compare it to this one cause i have not listened it for ages and can't recall it clearly. Anyway this their first album is if not a gem, a shiny pearl anyway. Nice female vocals, nice male vocals, well played, well composed, well produced... well everything. Very bright psych tinged folk album. Apparently US as a big country with a lot of music available could afford wasting this kind of album in bins and oblivion?

Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet (1968 London)

I'm not any big fan of RS and that is because of their following production after this and that music is what i first heard from them. I don't like their rock'n roll at all but their early albums including this this as the chronologically last one of that case is ok. And their Satanic Majestic... is one of the best and better than Sargeant Pepper for example. BB is very ok, not too straight forward music and chronologically the last one for me from them. 1968 was quite good year.

Mount Rushmore - High On... (1969 DOT)

First: They really are very high... Some seem to say this is the ugliest album cover ever, but i have seen even uglier ones. Secondly: This band is usually put in the pidgeon hole of blues but in my ears it gets an extra obscure feeling something psychedelic being added too. And these statues are so high that pidgeons don't dare to fly to shit on the shoulders. Ok, maybe the idea of cover is not the best one but... from the back cover: "All country boys...came to the city...played a lot of gigs... read yourself the rest.. Hei! This is good bluesy psych-tinged something quite original cooking.

Mashmakhan - The Family (1971 Epic)

I like this Canadian band's musical accent. I now happen to be very happy to have a copy of both their great albums.

Jeff Simmons - Naked Angels (1969 Straight)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsuIifEL-rI&feature=related

I wanted this time to copy and paste this: A superb mix of of acid-inspired hard rock, funky incidental music and studio experimentation, the Naked Angels soundtrack stands up well as an inventive collection of jams and conveys an infectious sense of fun and irreverence throughout.
Originally released on Frank Zappa’s legendary Straight label in 1969, this hard-rocking collection was the first release from future Zappa sideman Jeff Simmons (accompanied here by session guitarist Randy Steirling).
Largely instrumental, it showcases his superb guitar skills to memorable effect, and will delight collectors of rare
soundtracks, biker rock fans and Zappa completists alike. (Movie Grooves)

Madura - S/T (1971 CBS)

Crop circles! Message from outer space! And the alien's spaceship is to be  seen settled down near the cow house. Seriously this jazz with strong progrock flavour by ex Bangor Flying Circus members is music made for me. I get happy feelings with this. Who makes this kind of jamjazzprog these days?

American Flyer - S/T (1976 UA)

George "Midas" Martin stuck his little finger in a honey jar offered him by ex Blues Project, Blues Magoos and Velvet Underground members and what we got, is nothing further than soft country tinged lounge music.

Brass Monkey - S/T (1971 Rare Earth)

This sounds much better than what "RDTEN" and "Tymeshifter" say on RYM. Everything on the album is more than okay. It is well produced too by the band members Fletcher and Flett. Six of the ten tracks are also by Flett and Fletcher. Here a cover "You keep me hanging on" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfvvOXQPgDI&feature=related

Gilbert O'Sullivan & Gerry Dorsey - Humble Beginnings Of England's (1972)

Raymond "Gilbert" O'Sullivan and Arnold George Dorsey aka Engelbert Humperdinck are two singers who have changed their names. This their co-effort is quite unique album. Gilbert sings his own songs on side one and Engelbert only covers on his side two. I have never stumbled upon this kind of co-operation. Gilbert's passage is enjoyable; plain, acoustic feeling with an almost repetitive comping behind his songs make an authentic feeling. I picked this Pickwick album for 1 euro mainly because of the cover. There's something hypnotic in Gilbert's songs and i have listened his side of the album more than three times for now. Buy the way: 76 years old Gentleman Engelbert H represents England on Eurovision Song Contest this year 2012.

Brenda Patterson - Like Good Wine (1974 DiscReet)

I picked this one for 1 euro mainly because of my interest to Zappa's record label. I have now learned that Brenda has a Voice, but sadly it is not at its best on this album or should i say songs of this album are not challenging enough to make her show it all. If i ever hit her two first albums i will pick them for sure and pay much more than for this one.

Graffiti - S/T (1968 ABC)

Interesting concept album with the concept that there is no concept and so on... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZPiiRz7MpA&feature=relmfu

Emily Bindiger - Emily (1971 re 2012)

The best part of this album is acoustic guitar jamming with flute and base guitar on almost ten minutes long track "Old Lace". Top points to 16 years old Emily for composing herself all these eight tracks on the record. Her singing is not on very high level yet, but it fits well in her own music, and makes an exciting a bit astral weeks like "demo" feeling.
